2016 California Wine Grape Growers Foundation Reception

The annual CWGGF Wine Reception will take place on Tuesday, March 15th at the Senator Hotel, beginning at 5:30 pm. This event has served as the main annual fundraiser for the scholarship fund, and this year, the CWGGF’s Board of Directors has decided to bring new light to the annual foundation event by creating a new and exciting format.

The goal of this year’s event is to bring together legislators, other political elite and CAWG members to promote the accomplishments of the Foundation and to raise money for the scholarship fund. And, in addition to the usual food, wine, and silent auction, this year’s CWGGF Reception will feature a VIP wine tasting competition where various political leaders will put their decision making to the test by judging a host of wines from across the state.

Already RSVP’d to participate in the wine judging competition are a host of state elected officials and political leaders, including Board of Equalization Member Fiona Ma, Senator Tom Berryhill (R-Twain Harte), Senator Cathleen Galgiani (D-Stockton), Assemblymember Jim Cooper (D-Elk Grove), Assemblymember Kristin Olsen (R-Modesto), Assemblymember Jim Wood (D- Healdsburg) and Secretary of CDFA Karen Ross. These are just a few of those who are expected to participate in the judging competition on the night of the event.

Schedule of Events: The event will begin at 5:30 PM and will include an evening of wine, great food, silent auction and raffle drawing, and legislative judging. The evening is scheduled to wrap-up around 7:00 PM.

• $200 per individual ticket for non-members
